In the dead of night

Into your bedroom I sneak

In this place we will never meet

Neither will we in daylight.

In the silence of the void

I touch the sheets on your bed

They’ve got that unattainable scent

Of a cigarette you’ve smoked.

In the absence of emotion

I lay my head on your cover

Remembering your strong shoulder

Hugging me with caution.

In the mystery of life

Into pieces I tear my heart

For the love has left a scar

Of an unimaginable lie.
