A grain of sand in my eye

It hurts; I should not scratch

But let a tear take it outside.

Keep me in the dark…

A wave of wind that hits

Unexpectedly from behind.

I shut tight my eyelids,

Keep me in the dark…

A ray of sun that reveals

Too much from the shadows around.

I turn my head, choose not to see,

Keep me in the dark…

A move you make, a word you speak

Unwittingly covering new lies

I know about; but you’re everything to me

So…keep me in the dark!
